到英文论坛逛了逛,也是吵吵闹闹的笑死人, Why do British folk hate (North) American English? 下面是一位网友的发言.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛american "english" is ♥♥♥♥ed. first of all, its ENGLISH. please dont bastardise a language and keep its original name. i can understand that the american populace is not intelligent enough to understand some words have u's in them or that s's should be used instead of z's. over simplication. take "airplane" for example. its quite clearly aeroplane, but americans cannot deal with that.

but most definitely, the worst part about the difference between english and american "english" is when americans try to correct people using the correct english spelling.

learn people. its encyclopaedia, its foetus, its gaol, its aeroplane, its COLOUR.

England is indeed the origination of the English language, but the UK doesn't have a 'monopoly' on the usage of the language. Each English-speaking country has it's own unique variations of it.

And English itself has been heavily influenced by French (Norman invasion in 1066), plus Latin, Greek, and other influences.

im well aware english has its roots in numerous other languages, but that isnt the topic of discussion. but it does prove some of my points such as aeroplane rather than airplane as aero is taken from greek.

i guess i have 2 issues on this topic, as previously pointed out, americans trying to correct people that use correct english spelling, but also the fact that many countries that dont natively speak english tend to learn the bastardised american english, which is very wrong.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
