I did earlier this year. It was not easy to get a "B" in my class. But I also heard from some full-time EAC150 students they got their "B"s or even "A"s without much effort.

So I think the marking standard varies from teacher to teacher. (No panic, you won't get a chance to be in my teacher's class, she's nursing her baby at home these days).

Personally, I don't think one's writing skills can improve significantly from this 3-month-long course. The key factor to get a possibly higher mark is to strictly follow the teacher's directions and keep your grammar mistakes as few as possible( to avoid them completely in an in-class assignment wasn't realistic to me).

If you still get some time before your course, you can start with reading articles regularly, say 30 minutes per day. It helped a lot in my case. Time magazine and columns on newspaper can be good choices, in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy your course and good luck.

I am not confident for this course and I really need to get " B" in order to get credit for CGA course. Any suggestions for improving writing essays? Also, I'm looking for someone teaching English writings. Any help would be appreciated.

I have same feelings. It is hard to write essays in the class without any grammar mistake (time pressure). Did you take Saturday class? How is the teacher and essay topic? Do you mind sharing? Is it hard to get " B" taking part-time courses?
